WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH A TRAIL?

I met the two co-founders of the association "1 déchet par jour": Eddie Platt and Georges-Edouard Legré in 2017. At the time, they helped me relay a "positive" message about waste collection within my company (Indigo), an activity that is part of the "negative" daily routine in a car park.

As we talked (and had beers too), I discovered in Marseille an extremely voluntary and active network of associations on the issues of protecting nature in the city, and the sea of course. With determined actors facing the magnitude of the task: 1 déchet par jour, Clean My Calanques, the Grand Saphir, Ocean Rescue Project and many others.

Alexandre MOUNIER, current president of the association 1 Déchet par Jour, gave us a lot of advice in the preparation of the 1st edition of the FULL MOON, in order to keep the eco-responsible commitments of our charter. Amongst these, we committed ourselves to cleaning the course. Duly noted. So thank you, friends, for organising this collection!

Waste management: not exactly Marseille's greatest quality. Peuchère....

OK. From far and wide, civic-mindedness and cleanliness are not the first things to be mentioned when talking about the qualities of Marseille. You can see it in the streets and even sometimes on the footpaths: there is rubbish lying around, and you can't say that "it's the mistral wind that pushes the papers around"...

Some people feel sorry for it, and others decide to change things. The association "1 déchet par jour" has chosen this option. Gathering (good will), collecting (waste that is lying around), promoting (civic-mindedness and the impact on our environment), this is its mission!

Who doesn't pick up is not a Marseillais!

On the occasion of the FULL MOON trail race, Natacha the super G.O. organised the operation with the association which manages the Foresta park and VEOLIA which provided and collected the sorting bins and containers free of charge.

For 3 hours, the merry band went on a trash hunt in the park, which allowed many of the volunteers present to discover an unsuspected oasis of greenery and calm in the heart of the city. Bonus: rides on ranch boss Chadly's farm tractor 😊.

Summary of the collection on Sunday 3 April, says Natacha
